8.6- It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of my dad on July 31st, just two weeks shy of his 73rd birthday. His love will remain with us always, carried in our hearts forever. Thank you all for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.

On July 11th, the head of our family and my beloved father, Michael Gottert, suffered from cardiac arrest. Despite the paramedics responding quickly and administering cpr off and on over the course of 45 minutes, his brain was significantly affected by a lack of oxygen. My dad is currently in ICU on a ventilator. His vitals and organs have recovered, however his brain will not be able to. He will soon be moving to hospice care to make his transition. As an extremely close family, we are heartbroken and deeply saddened. If you have had the honor of knowing my dad, you are lucky. He has lived life on his terms- he worked hard, he played hard, he felt hard, he laughed hard and he loved hard. The void of his presence will surely not go unnoticed and we will miss him everyday until we are all together again. He will be surfing the eternal wave and with us always in spirit. He will be leaving behind his wife and my mom, Donna, his son, Nick, his son in law, Justin, myself, and his beautiful first granddaughter, that I am due to deliver early this September, Lana. Along with countless friends and other family members that loved him deeply.
