In honor of Melinda Shaver

Honestly, we are not quite sure how to write any of this but will give it a try. Our hearts are completely broken writing this but wanted to provide people a way to help if they so choose.

We are setting up this fund to help with expenses and other items that Scott may need while going through this unimaginable time.

Our amazing friend Melinda passed away suddenly a few days ago and we are all still in a great deal of shock. She was the most genuine, caring person we have ever met and there will forever be an enormous hole in our hearts. Melinda was incredibly kind and always thought about other people, even if she was going through her own battles.

Melinda saw the positive in every situation even if there wasn't much positive to see. She had a way about her that is hard to explain but she could make everything better just but being around you. She was funny, caring, and sarcastic in the best way, especially when providing feedback about your hair and wardrobe choices such as: "are you ok with that choice you just made".

Melinda was the best friend a person could have, she loved you in a way that made you feel like you were the most important person in her world. Her Corgis (Fletcher and Corby) and her cat Princess brought her so much joy, especially the seldom times when they got along. A diehard Blackhawks fan (everyone has their faults ), and was devoted to helping well just about anyone. We could go on and on about Melinda and those who were lucky enough to know her are forever blessed.

Above all else in her life, Melinda loved Scott fiercely and completely. They were truly each other's sole mate, and she was most certainly the Ellie to his Carl.

We will miss her more than we could ever put into words, but we vow to be better people and try not to let her down.
