We are all saddened by the loss of our mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, family, and friend Lourdes Espinal, also fondly known by many as 'Ela.' She was called to heaven on Tuesday, December 8, at 87 years old, after battling some lingering effects of COVID-19.
While her life was not easy, she lived it in love, joy, and purpose. She immigrated to the US in the late 70s from the Dominican Republic and worked in sewing factories in Brooklyn to make ends meet. She forged a life of opportunity for her daughter, grandchildren, and the many people she helped. She was a woman of faith and participated in many church groups that helped look after the elderly, sick, and those needing spiritual support. She has made a difference in so many people's lives, all with never asking for anything in return.
Funds will be used to cover funeral/burial fees and expenses.
She was a humble and kind soul, and her legacy will be eternally celebrated.
We love you, ELA, and know you will be reigning in Glory up in heaven.
