In Honor Of Jason Englert

Jason Englert had a passion for people. He spent his life bringing joy, kindness, love and generosity to all those around him.
Jason grew up in Royal, IA, a town of less than 500 people in NW Iowa. He went to UNI to fulfill his goal of becoming a teacher. He supported and taught students in math and science. Most recently Jason was the talented and gifted teacher at Belmond-Klemme school. He coached multiple sports, supported extracurricular activities, lead technology initiatives and had a passion for STEM.
Teaching was more than a job for Jason. He wanted to meet all students where they were. He was a leader and innovator and was ready to take on new initiatives or bring what he had learned to his colleagues to help them grow as well.
This GoFundMe was initiated by several of Jason's childhood friends. We have known Jason nearly all our lives. We played with him on the playground and watched him work multiple jobs to put himself through school and finally become an educator. He never missed a birthday greeting and came to potlucks with his secret recipe. Students have shared how Jason never gave up on them and met them where they were. He loved shenanigans and was always good for a laugh. We wanted to start a fund to help support Jason's family cover final expenses.
