Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Rahim,
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Indeed we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return.
After 25 years on this Earth, our dear friend and brother Abdul-Jalil Sharif Farid has passed on a few days ago. Jalil is the son, pride & joy of our teacher/coach/mentor Mr. Farid of Universal School. Due to a longstanding medical condition, Jalil's heart ultimately gave out on him playing basketball. All the while, he managed to give his heart to the world.
Jalil was a charismatic and joyful spirit that always brightened every room he was in. He was a loving son, a caring brother, a great friend, and most recently, a proud father.
Proceeds for fundraiser will go toward building a water well in Mali, Africa in honor and memory of Jalil, in addition to helping his family financially during this difficult and trying time. The water well will be established by Pious Projects, a non-profit organization, and would serve an entire village of thousands of Malians with a fundamental source of clean drinking water without having to travel several miles.
Losing a loved one unexpectedly can be incredibly difficult for a family. We ask that you graciously give anything you can to help us with this project as a continuously rewarding charity which will continue to benefit people even after Jalil's passing. And to also help ease the burden on the family throughout this hardship.
I ask that you keep Jalil and his family in your thoughts & prayers as well.
