Many years ago our family befriended a young lady in our neighborhood. It wasn't long before we considered Heather part of our family. We grew to love Heather and look forward to her company. Heather became a regular in our home, growing up beside our own daughters. We loved her completely, she brought such joy and happiness to our home with her own unique stories and never ending love for tye-dye "fashion". As time pressed on and life moved forward, Heather wasn't afforded the opportunity of independence, like others her age. Instead, Heather lived with her mother, seeming to remain forever young. If asked her age, she typically snapped back with a firm assurance of "fourteen".

Just a few months ago Heather endured unspeakable tragedy and suffered the loss of her mother, her primary care provider. Luckily, Heather had immediate family just around the corner from her mother's home and was able to remain part of our neighborhood. We were so happy our dear friend would continue to visit our door and be a part of our daily lives.

Then suddenly, without warning, God called Heather home. Her sister delivered the news to our door, the very same door Heather would frequent almost daily. It still doesn't seem possible that our dear friend is no longer here.

With the approval of Heather's immediate guardian, We decided to create this page in hopes of honoring Heather with a proper memorial. Funeral plans remains uncertain but may hinge greatly on the availability of funds. Heather maintained a very small circle of friends and as a result of not being independent, lacked the ability to provide for her own well being and build a network of resources. Our love for Heather demands that we ask for help on her behalf. Any and all funds collected will go directly to Heather's sister who was her guardian these last few months.
