Our beloved Yonas Kelem recently passed on August 31st, 2021 . Yonas was born to his loving parents Negisti and Kelem in November of 2000, with a smile known to radiated any room. He was a wonderful brother to Fasika, Aaron and Henok. He was a dedicated deacon since the age of 14 , who unconditionally served his church. At such a young age, the way that Yonas gave to his community was unmatched. Yonas had a trademark, his loving hugs.

Yonas was an uplifting and supportive young man, an exact reflection of the kindhearted parents who raised him. Negisti and Kelem migrated to Denver, Colorado in 1990s and have been active pillars in the Tigray community since. Watching the example set by his parents, it's no surprise that Yonas was the extraordinary young man that he was.

Although we know his angelic spirit lives on, this sudden loss has left both his family and community devastated.

We want to give Yonas the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. The purpose of this gofundme is to support his family through these unforeseen times.
