In Honor of Damond Gordon

Donation protected

Damond Tiron Gordon, born November 7, 1974 in Washington, D.C., was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend, and child of God. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 15, and he remained devout in his faith throughout his life.

Damond was also warm, kind, loyal, benevolent, and wildly hilarious—his deep, hearty laughter lighting up any room he stepped into. As notably, he deeply loved his family, friends, and colleagues, to whom he was often known as an overachiever.

This old school hip-hop and R&B aficionado was a successful writer, producer, and director—most well-known for his work on “The Wire” and on BET’s “Teen Summit” as a Posse Member.

Profoundly proud of his SW D.C. roots, Damond was the alumnus of Amidon ES, Jefferson JHS, and Wilson SHS. He later graduated from Bowie State University with a B.A. in Mass Communications and from Towson University with an M.A. in Film & Writing.

At the time of his passing, Damond was suffering from hypertension and kidney disease, and he ascended to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2020.

All donations will help to cover Damond’s funeral costs, and the family greatly appreciates any contribution that you can offer. God’s abundant blessings to each of you for your loving support and sacrifice.
