In Honor of Corey and Shana Crum

Go Fund Me in honor of Coach Corey and Shana Crum
As many of you reading this probably know, Coach Corey Crum, and his wife Shana were tragically taken from us on Sunday, March 10th. Their teenage son, Chase, was injured as well but thankfully is expected to make a full physical recovery. The official statement is: “Coach Crum was operating a boom lift, and unloading a piece of equipment from a trailer when the boom of the lift made contact with overhead power lines. This electrified the boom lift electrocuting Coach Crum. The coach's wife then attempted to aid him, and was also electrocuted. Their son also attempted to help the two, and he was electrocuted and injured.”
The personal truth is: This world lost two great people on Sunday and three children are left without parents way too early in life. Many family, friends, colleagues in the baseball community, and kind people hearing about this heartbreaking situation are asking ‘how can we help’. First, and foremost, please pray. Please pray that God will send forth what He promises in Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Chase, Baylee, Payton, all the immediate family, and everyone that knew Corey and Shana need this personal peace in order to move forward one day at a time.
In the days ahead will be great financial unknowns. People have inquired about: can they help with funeral expenses, can they donate in their honor, can they contribute to Chase’s daily needs, can they give towards Chase’s college fund, the family would also like to establish a scholarship to a LCHS senior baseball player in honor of Corey and Shana.
There are so many unknowns at this point, but one thing that is certain, all funds contributed to this official Crum family go-fund me site will be used as their parents lived, to continue to have a positive impact on the world. We don’t yet know the funeral financial responsibilities, we don’t yet know Chase’s continued medical follow-up, we don’t yet know any of the childrens’ emotional toil, we don’t yet know how we’ll continue to tomorrow. But we do know that people are asking how can they give and we want one official fund so that we can be accountable and forthright in our needs as they arise.
Thank you to everyone that has prayed, cried, visited, called, text, and in any way loved on this family. We will never be the same. If at all possible, in ways we can’t even foresee, we pray to be stronger….it’s what Coach Crum and Mrs. Shana would want! God Bless us all.
