In Honor of Bryan Cianci & Family

On September 7th, 2016, our best friend's father, who had a recent bout of hospital visits, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It had already spread to his liver, but the doctors told the family that although it wasn't curable, it was treatable and they hoped to control the spread with chemotherapy. After several stressful weeks, despite optimism that he would thrive for at least the foreseeable future, Bryan passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on October 9, 2016 with his daughter, our dear friend Christina, at his side.
Despite the trauma of witnessing her father's passing, Christina had spent the past several weeks juggling a tremendous amount of stress. She is recently engaged and had been planning her wedding - getting her father's opinion on dresses the very weekend he passed. She was actively speaking with hospitals, doctors, friends, anyone who might be able to get second opinions on her father's treatment. She was driving from NJ to CT multiple times a week to check on her family, take care of her father, providing any help and support she could. She was doing all of this, while being in the midst of the busiest and most demanding time of year at her job - and she never once complained that she couldn't handle it.
Before Bryan's diagnosis, he and his wife Sue had just bought a new house and taken on adopting a new puppy. Their son Daniel had been happily married and now their daughter Christina was on her way to her happily ever after as well. To say things did a complete 180-degree turn within the past month is an understatement.
We all have tremendous love and respect for Christina as a person and we want to help take whatever burden we can off her shoulders. That's why we are asking her friends and family, in lieu of flowers, to consider making a donation to this page - 50% of the funds will go to pancreatic cancer research, and the other 50% will go to Christina and her family to help with expenses associated with funeral costs or any other stressful items they need to take care of. Knowing Christina and given the way she has handled everything thrown at her the past month, we know she would be too humble to ask for help, but we also know that no one would appreciate this gift any more than she would.
