In Loving Memory of John Dawdy

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved John Dawdy.

John served with honor as a volunteer Firefighter for Dover, NJ. and as an underwater investigator for the Sheriff’s Department in Morris County, NJ. His courageous and selfless service was tragically cut short when a duty-related injury led to early retirement. For the past 28 years, John lived in Wharton, NJ, facing numerous health challenges with quiet strength and dignity, supported by his loving partner, Rose Fackino.

Just one week ago, John suffered a massive stroke and was admitted to the ICU. Despite multiple surgeries and the tireless efforts of his medical team, complications from severe brain swelling and existing heart issues proved too much.

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., John peacefully passed away.

His death was sudden and deeply heartbreaking. As we John's three daughters, sister, life partner, and stepdaughter navigate this difficult time, we hope to hold a one-day service to honor a life marked by bravery, compassion, and love. John leaves behind a legacy cherished and countless friends who were touched by his kindness and unforgettable humor.

We are seeking support to help cover the costs of John’s funeral and memorial service. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference.
