Dear friends, family, and supporters,
It’s with a heavy heart that I share about my cousin Steven’s wife, Barbara, who is nearing the end of her journey with Stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer. Diagnosed just this past March, Barbara’s condition has progressed quickly and treatment has now come to an end.
Barbara has always been a source of warmth, strength, and love in our family. She and Steven have built a beautiful life together — raising three incredible daughters, one who is preparing to get married next month. Their family has also recently welcomed three grandchildren under the age of two, and Barbara had been treasuring this time as a new grandmother. Being “Grandma” brought her so much joy and meaning.
This is not the chapter any of us expected, and it has come far too soon. Barbara is just shy of her 60th birthday, which we had all hoped to celebrate with joy and laughter. Instead, we are now focused on helping Steven and the family through these final days with love, support, and grace.
We've created this fundraiser to help ease the immense financial stress that comes with end-of-life care and all the unexpected costs that follow. Steven is now facing mounting medical costs, time away from work, and the emotional weight of a life-taking illness. And then the reality of adjusting to life without his partner of so many years. He is one of the greatest men I know, and I can't imagine what he's going through.
The family is doing everything they can to care for her while navigating the complex world of cancer care — all while trying to keep their lives as steady as possible for their growing family.
If you’re able to give, any amount — big or small — would mean the world. And if you’re not in a position to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your network.
Thank you for your love, support, and kindness. It means more than words can say.
