In Honor of Antonina: Coming Together to Cover Funeral Costs

On December 30, 2024, we lost someone truly special to the Starbright community. Antonina (Tonya) Pokidaylo was more than a teacher—she was a dear colleague, a friend, and a second mom to so many kids who passed through Starbright doors. For over 20 years, she poured her heart into caring for children, making sure they felt safe, happy, and loved.

Tonya was not just good at her job; she made Starbright feel like home for many children and families. Her laughter and warmth created memories that so many families still treasure. Whether it was a comforting hug, a word of encouragement, or the way she made every child feel special, she had a way of leaving a lasting mark on everyone she met.

Now, it is our turn to give back to someone who gave so much. We are raising funds to help cover her funeral expenses and support her son during this incredibly hard time. Losing someone you love - loosing a mother - is heartbreaking, and the financial burden of saying goodbye should not add to that pain.
