On Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 at 10:08 am, we lost a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and overall beautiful human being - Adrine Kazanjian.
.
Adrine was always very private about her health because she didn’t want to burden anyone - a testament to her character. She was one of the most selfless, considerate, and caring humans we’ve ever known.
.
However, she gracefully and silently lived with MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome) for the past seven years. In mid-April, her MDS transformed to AML (acute myeloid leukemia).
.
As much as we would have loved more time with you, we try to find comfort in knowing you are in a better place now, no longer suffering and in pain, and reunited with the love of your life, your baby boy and guardian Angel, Koko.
.
We wanted to provide our friends and family with some updated information regarding her memorial serivce and Celebration of Life Luncheon.
.
The memorial will no longer take place at St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church, as we were just informed they will be undergoing construction that day and are unable to perform the services as planned.
.
The memorial will still occur at 11:30am on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023.
.
However, please make it to the correct church - St. Kevork Armenian Apostolic Church (1434 West Kenneth Rd, Glendale, CA 91201).
.
Because the drive will be a bit longer, we have moved the Celebration of Life Luncheon from 1 pm to 1:30 pm - still at Olympia Banquet Hall (16922 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, CA 91406).
.
Adrine’s wish was to be cremated after the memorial, so per her request, please do not send flowers to the church.
.
For those who would like to contribute something to honor her memory, we have set up a GoFundMe account for her nephew Karnig Sarkissian, the son of her youngest sister living in Beirut Lebanon.
.
Adrine’s wish was to help with her nephew’s tuition so that he may begin his 4-year degree in computer science this fall at Haigazian University.
.
As many of you know, life is difficult for our loved ones in Lebanon, and by empowering him with the gift of education, Adrine can rest easy knowing he will work to create the best life he can for their family back home.
.
Thank you to everyone for all the texts, calls, flowers, hugs, warm embraces and well wishes during this very diffiucult time for our family.
.
We look forward to seeing many of you next week and hopefully having a little piece of closure.
.
God bless you and R.I.P Adrine Kazanjian - you are forever in our hearts.
