My name is Nerrissa, and it is with profound sorrow that I share the sudden passing of my beloved father, Bernard Baptiste. My father was undocumented in Canada, and amidst my deep grief, I now face the daunting challenge of funeral expenses, which I’m unable to cover as a single mother with a two-year-old son. I humbly ask for your kindness in helping us with the cremation costs.
Originally from the Village Fancy in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Bernard was a true Vincentian at heart. In 2003, he made the brave choice to move to Toronto in search of work and a better future for his family. Though far from the sea he loved so dearly, he carried with him his warmth, his love of engaging conversation, and his vibrant zest for life.
He was a kindhearted and genuine soul who touched many lives. Recently, he had been contending with heart issues. After a scare a few years ago, we hoped his health had improved, but on January 5th, 2026, everything changed. My father was found gone by a dear friend. Emergency services responded quickly, but sadly, it was too late.
Any donation, regardless of the amount, will go entirely toward his funeral expenses. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this message so others may pay tribute to Bernard Baptiste. Your support and compassion mean the world to us during this difficult time, helping us to give him a proper farewell. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.❤️
