In Egemen’s Memory
On the 17th of February 2020, my brilliant and brave husband, Egemen Dogan passed away peacefully. He was diagnosed with glioblstoma multi forme in early November 2019.
The Marie Curie hospice, Newcastle played a very important part in the care of my dear husband. Through an extremely tough time in our lives, the doctors, nurses and staff there made this process so much easier to adjust to and cope with. Their expert care ensured that Egemen was as comfortable and relaxed as he could be. They also helped him to still find happiness and laughter with his family and friends.
Not only did they help Egemen, but they offered excellent support to myself and my children. Marie curie became my home for four weeks, as they welcomed me in to stay with my husband in the last weeks of his life. We are extremely grateful for all that they have done for us.
This is why we would love to raise money in Egemen’s name, to support this excellent facility in Newcastle.
This cancer was a big shock to all of us. Egemen coped with this cruel disease with dignity, grace and resilience. He really was a brilliant, brave and beautiful man and we will all miss him deeply.
Marie Curie is a national charity, however we would like to specifically donate to the Newcastle Hospice. This can only be done via cheque or cash, so I will pay all of the money raised from this page online, to the Newcastle hospice.
Any donation in his memory will mean the world to me and my family, to give something back to the Marie Curie.
