In dedication to the memory, spirit and legacy of Bob Wills

In memory of Bob Wills (Willsy, Willser, the General) we are asking for donations that will go towards community legacy projects with a target to raise $10,000. Donations of any amount are appreciated and every bit helps toward reaching our goal. Thank you.

My name is Paul Ross, life long friend of Bob Wills. Bob was born in Moose Jaw and proud of it. We met at U of A in 1973 and as they say the rest is history. We had a life time of adventures together and I had the pleasure of witnessing him touch the lives of many, many people.

Bob recently returned to Bali to visit people and places that he often called his second home, as he had worked and lived in Indonesia some years ago. He would always return home to his prairie roots wherever his travels would take him but unfortunately Bob met with a tragic accident that proved fatal.

Bob was a graduate of U of A, spent many years in Edmonton, where he worked and started his family which included four children.

One of his favourite things to do was walk and walk. In these early years Bob walked the MacKinnon Ravine in Edmonton as he commuted to U of A by foot. He loved the River Valley enjoying all seasons. Being in nature fed his spirit and soul. Those early years of commute had a big impact on Bob, as he would later return to Moose Jaw to manage the Wakamow Valley urban park system and dedicate many years to creating trails and parks that people could enjoy for generations.

Bob cut his big prairie swath of spirit and passion throughout his life and was unforgettable to anyone that had the pleasure to cross his path. His zest for life was evident in whatever he was doing. He loved his family, proud to be the father four children and loved being Bap(grandfather) to his two young grandchildren. When he participated in community, the arts, outdoors, sport or music, he was all in. He loved it all and with great passion. He had an uncanny way of drawing people in through his many spirited ways.

This memorial tribute and request for donations is to provide for legacy projects that the community can enjoy in remembrance of Bob. Beginning with a Park Bench along the MacKinnon Ravine Trail in Edmonton, that every passerby could have an opportunity to rest at and enjoy the beauty of nature in the middle of the city. Something Bob cherished. In addition, a dedication is being explored at Wakamow Valley, Moose Jaw.

Exceeding the goal will allow for these community legacy projects and others to be considered. In order to initiate these projects would appreciate and be grateful for your donations as soon as possible.
