In Dancing Memory of Charlie Hopkins

Our dearest, fabulous, inimitable Charlie has left the physical world on the 9th of April 2021.

But Charlie has never and will never really leave us. He is now part of all of us and all of those he met and whose lives wouldn't be the same without him. Charlie will forever be with us, dance with us, laugh with us, and push us to be a better, freer version of ourselves.

This fundraiser is set up by Charlie's friends and the money raised will be for:

* A Memorial for Charlie. We are looking at the possibility of a memorial bench or a tree in Hamstead Heath or Hackney Marshes, two of Charlie's favourite places. 

* The remainder of the money will be split equally and given to a group of charities whose causes were very dear to Charlie, and some of which he actively campaigned and fought for.

The charities we have chosen so far are:

* Positive East - Providing better futures for HIV positive people.
* UKLGIG - UK Lesbian & Gay Immigration Group
* AKT - LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity
* London Friend - LGBT Mental Health & Wellbeing Charity
* Mermaids - Helping gender-diverse kids, young people and their families

If you have any other suggestions for charities, please let us know.

Please also leave a message to Charlie with your donation. We will compile them and send them to Charlie's family at the end of the fundraiser.
