On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the world gained another angel and protector in the passing of John "Johnny" Joseph Gerosimo. Our son, brother, uncle, favorite musician, and friend. Johnny courageously pushed through a 13-year battle, like the fighter that he is.

Johnny is a truly special soul, always kind, gentle, and unconditionally thoughtful. His smile and laugh lit up every room, making people feel special. As a highly talented musician and singer-songwriter, his voice, guitar, and lyrics uplifted and inspired all who listened. He loved deeply, cared fiercely, and gave more than he ever asked for in return, even during the depths of his illness.

There is no doubt that Johnny is a lover, but he sure knew how to fight. He had to endure years of cancer treatment, medications, surgeries, remission, recovery, and cancer again. He wanted to keep pushing and held onto the hope to spend more time with his family, especially his two little nephews. Eventually, and not due to the lack of heart or will, the fight ended.

Any money donated will be used to fund his services and provide support to his parents, his primary caregivers. A portion will be donated in Johnny's name to organizations and causes close to his heart, such as ASPCA and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital.

Our family, his friends, and the community are devastated. We know that so many people who love Johnny want to help, and we know that, as Johnny said, People Need People. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to this GoFundMe. We are so grateful for your generosity and support.
