A time of struggle & need for Kai & Jemma #standbyme

Hi, I'm Jemma, I have created this fundraiser for my husband and I at a time in our lives where we are unbelievably struggling to get by.

Creating this has taken some strength as it really was not what either of us wanted to do but we are out of options. We have had bad luck, upon bad luck within a matter of months that is just about going to leave us with nothing if we don't at least try this last option to ask for help.

Some of you may already know, and some not, but since the passing of Kai's mum, Kai has struggled with his mental health and grieving his mum, his mental health hit rock bottom after his mum had passed and his previous employees did everything in their power to make Kai's mental health worse and not support him in any way. Kai was left with no option but to leave his job at the end of Spring 2024 and made the brave decision to go self employed, doing garden and property maintenance in and around Lincolnshire. Through help from his family, he obtained a van and has been progressing well with building his own business since

Unfortunately, unknown to us upon getting the van, it came with problems and the van has now run out of MOT and it has become apparent that it needs a lot of work doing to it to make it road worthy again and we just do not have any money to fix it as Kai was still in the process of building the business and was only making enough to pay the bills.

This means Kai has no vehicle at the moment and is unable to work, he has lost work and wages. We are doing everything we can to keep our heads above water but we have the MOT for my car due on 13th December, which we also believe needs some repairs, and we have also been informed by our landlords that they will be selling our home in the new year and so have to contend with finding a new home also. We are having to survive off of my wage only at the moment but that won't cover everything going forward, we desperately need to get Kai's van back on the road or obtain another van/vehicle as he cannot work without one and we need to keep my car on the road so I can work. We are also struggling with bills and food due to loss of wages and really have nowhere else to turn.

It's a big ask to ask all our friends, family and even strangers to help us but we do not know what else to do, we have literally exhausted all other options.

Therefore, it's with the hugest of heartfelt pleas, all we ask is if you could just spare £1 or even 10p and share this fundraiser far and wide, we would be forever grateful for any support.

I don't create this fundraiser lightly but out of desperation for some help from the people we know and love and who knows we wouldn't ask if we wasn't desperate. Along with kindhearted strangers who can sympathise with our current situation.
