In a Loving Support to Ramona "MONA"
Donation protected
Hi, this is Christopher Lee Coghlan, son of Ramona Thornton. It has been a sensitive time this last month. It was only less than a month that Mom took herself into the hospital via Special Loving and Strong Husband to get checked. She was having some medical issues that everyone could understand. Well, this issue led to an immediate CT Scan and urgent surgery. It saddens me to write this story only to know how strong my Mother is, and they removed a 3mm Stage Three Cancer Tumor from her colon, blocking her intestines from functioning. The incision is from her Chest Bone to Below her belly button, which held 36 staples. They claim to have removed all cancerous cells and tumors and tested liver, lung, and lymph nodes for the spread. All tests came out negative, thank our god. She remains in the hospital due to an infection being monitored and slowly healing from the wound in the abdomen. I can honestly say that she is a warrior, an angel, and a believer that all will be okay. Yes, this experience is heart-wrenching to anyone who has battled cancer with a close one. I can say the lord works in mysterious ways because she has worked hard all her life, been there for so many, and continues to be the most positive person. Still, this can happen when medical insurance lapsed and she was in the midst of a new coverage decision exiting her last job with Boot-Barn. She has been enrolled into a new medical plan starting November 1, 2022 and will definitely be of help with the treatment she needs exiting the hospital for her month stay of recovery. Her abdomen is being monitored and managed with a special machine that removes all infected fluid and risks of infection, allowing the wound to heal a lot quicker. Without the loving care of her doctors, staff and sophisticated medical technology, she may be in life-threatening condition. I am asking for Love, Prayers, and support for her condition and future days, months, years and longevity. We were not going launch a message asking for help, but the financial hardship of the insurance not covering the care for her while it lapsed places us in a position to ask for help and prayer that there is some relief to her situation. If anyone knows of any special program she may be able to apply for and or qualify for; please email me [email redacted]. Our family can use the support while we get her back on her feet and healthy again. We love you Mona, Mom, Wife, Grandma, Sister, Everything and Friend. XoXoXo
