In Support of Tammy Wilson

**Update**
It is with a heavy heart that I wanted to inform you that Tammy Wilson has passed away. She had received hospice care from Forbes Hospital from March 12th until March 14th. Tammy passed away the morning of March 14th surrounded by her three children. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts, and thank you for your love, support, and kindness.

The proceeds donated to this GoFundMe will be provided to the Wilson-Wilt Family in honor of Tammy Wilson. 

 

The funds donated to the family will be used to help alleviate the financial burden end-of-life and cancer often bring. 

 

I would like to start by thanking the staff at Forbes Hospital for their accommodations and kindness. I would like to thank my mother's cancer doctor and his staff for their treatment and guidance while they worked tirelessly to save my mom. I also want to thank everyone who is able to help support my family through this difficult time. Your love, support, and kindness will never be forgotten.

 

My mother, Tammy Wilson, age 58 from Apollo, Pennsylvania, was diagnosed with cancer in July 2020. There was a small node on her lung that they found in 2019 that they believed was an abnormality. They said they would monitor it for signs of growth before they pursued further tests. They monitored it for a year or so, but it never enlarged. Unfortunately, after a small surgery, it was determined that the small node was actually an aggressive form of small cell lung cancer that had progressed to stage 4. The node never enlarged, but it had been spreading cancer throughout her body. Shortly after her diagnosis in July 2020, she began her chemotherapy treatment for Lung, Liver, and Bone Cancer.

 

From July 2020 until February 2021, Tammy fought a difficult back-and-forth battle with cancer. In February, we were painstakingly told that her cancer had aggressively returned. On March 12th, 2021, Tammy was taken to the hospital suffering from dizziness and confusion. Scans confirmed her cancer had spread into her brain, and later that same day, she took a turn for the worse.

 

Tammy is currently receiving hospice care from Forbes Hospital. She is surrounded by her friends and family, who is taking turns seeing her due to current Covid-19 restrictions.
