Support for Injured IMSI Staff Member

On January 17, 2026, a dedicated 56-year-old staff member at the Idaho Maximum-Security Institution was brutally assaulted by an inmate while on duty. He was immediately transported to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized in stable condition. The incident is currently under investigation by the Idaho State Police, and the facility has since returned to normal operations thanks to the swift response of the correctional team.

This staff member has devoted his career to serving and protecting others, and now he and his family are facing an incredibly difficult time.

The Morale Task Forces for the facilities in the South Boise complex are working together to coordinate support, and your contribution will make a meaningful difference.

The staff member and his wife have asked for privacy as he recovers, hence we have not included names at this time. However, they are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from the community. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, and consider donating to help ease the burden on his family. The courage and teamwork shown by the response team prevented an even greater tragedy, and this event is a powerful reminder of the risks faced by those who work in corrections. Any support you can offer is truly appreciated.
