Meine große Vision ist es, dass die Kunstform des Improtheaters ein eigenes Zuhause in Karlsruhe findet und eine kleine aber feine und vor allem integrative Community hier entsteht.

Nach monatelanger Planung eröffnete das Improtheater Karlsruhe im Februar 2020 seine eigenen Räume in der Friedenstraße 2. Damals konnte noch keiner wissen, dass dies der schlechtestmögliche Zeitpunkt für eine derartige Gründung sein würde.

Denn wie viele andere kleinen und großen Gruppen aus dem Bereich der Kunst, Kultur und Veranstaltungsindustrie wurde auch das Improtheater Karlsruhe hart durch die Corona-Maßnahmen getroffen.

Innerhalb der letzten zwei Jahre durften nur während elf Monate davon Kurse angeboten, und Shows oder Proben durchgeführt werden. Die restliche Zeit waren die Türen verschlossen und dies bei laufenden Kosten von monatlich rund 1.700€, durch Miete, Strom, Heizkosten und Versicherungen. Dies geschah natürlich alles aus verständlichen Gründen. Denn die Gesundheit geht immer vor und sämtliche Maßnahmen, um die Ansteckungskurve so flach wie möglich zu halten und die Schwächsten der Gesellschaft zu schützen gehören unterstützt.

Und trotzdem wurde das Angebot angenommen, es haben in diesen elf Monaten über 200 Erwachsene und 50 Kinder unsere Kurse besucht, es gab Teilnehmer:innen zwischen 6 und 66 Jahren, neun ausverkaufte Vorstellungen auf unserer Heimatbühne, dem marotte Figurentheater, mit insgesamt über 700 Zuschauer:innen fanden statt und vor allem haben sich viele viele Leute kennengelernt und dabei Spaß gehabt, den Alltag hinter sich gelassen und kreativ ausgetobt.

Trotzdem haben diese geschlossenen Monate ein tiefes Loch in den Budgetplan gegraben und vor allem viel Ungewissheit verursacht, da jeder Lockdown auch einen mühseligen Neustart nach sich zog.

Ich wurden jetzt mehrmals gefragt, ob und wie man das Improtheater Karlsruhe unterstützen kann und bislang konnte ich durch Ersparnisse und vor allem die Corona-Hilfen gut über die Runden kommen. Doch vor wenigen Wochen kam der Schock. Die ausgezahlten Gelder der ausgezahlten Hilfen müssen zurückgezahlt werden, da ich nicht antragsberechtigt war. Diese Summe beläuft sich auf rund 8.000€.

Ich würde gerne eure Hilfe annehmen und versuchen, über Gofundme und durch eure Unterstützung einen Teil dieser Summe zu sammeln.

Jeder Euro zählt, damit es in Karlsruhe auch weiterhin ein Zuhause für Improthater geben kann. Ich möchte diesen sicheren Ort, an dem sich jeder Mensch kreativ ausprobieren darf, so gerne erhalten! Daher teilt diese Kampagne bitte.

i am Manuel and my big dream is that the art form of Improvised Theater finds its own home and safe space in Karlsruhe and that a small but fine and, above all, integrative community grows here.

After months of planning, the Improtheater Karlsruhe opened its own space at the Friedenstraße 2 in February of 2020. At that time, nobody could have known that this would be the worst possible time for such a plan.

Because like many other small and large companies from the art, culture and event industry, the Improtheater Karlsruhe was hit hard by the Corona measures and restrictions.

Within the last two years, courses, shows and rehearsals were only allowed to be offered during eleven months. The rest of the time, the doors were locked and this with running costs of around € 1,700 monthly, including rent, electricity, heating costs and insurance. This, of course, was all for understandable reasons. Because health always comes first and all measures to flatten the curve and to protect the weakest in our communites should be supported.

And yet the courses and shows were accepted and successful with over 200 adults and 50 children attending our courses in these eleven months, there were participants between 6 and 66 years of age. There were nine sold out shows on our home stage, the marotte Figurentheater, with a total of over 700 people in the audicen. And above all, many, many people got to know each other and had fun together, left their everyday life behind and were able to express themselves creatively.

Nevertheless, the months during lockdown dug a deep hole in the budget plan and, above all, caused a lot of uncertainty, as each lockdown also demanded so much energy to restart afterwards.

I have now been asked several times whether and how one can support the Improtheater Karlsruhe and so far I have been able to make ends meet thanks to savings and, above all, the Corona aids. But the shock came a few weeks ago. The paid fundings have to be paid back because I was not eligible to apply. This sum amounts to around € 8,000.
