Publish the "imperfect" book!

I am a writer. I've known this since I was a wee little one. I also knew I was here to help people.

And yet, the pressure of perfectionism that I placed upon myself turned me into a creative desert. It resulted in depression, suicidality, addiction, and many years of victimhood.

This book, "Imperfect," shows the importance (and true necessity) for making imperfect art. Telling a story even before it's completed. Drawing silly stick figures rather than not at all. Dancing awkwardly in our cars to the songs that make US feel alive no matter who's watching.

The book shows my journey from a life of numbing and self-abuse to a life of sobriety, messy emotions, self-love, and expression.

It shows how, when it comes down to it, emotions are energy. They can (and should) be utilized for creative endeavors. This is personally healing and, when shared with others, offers a healing platform for them as well.

My argument is that we don't need to wait until we are XYZ "enough" to write that book or wear that bathing suit or ask that person on a date or play the guitar. We are here now. We are ready now. We must simply take the first, messy step.

This book is a great fit for perfectionists, for hyper-sensitive people, for hermit artists, and people struggling with depression.

It's relatable. It's funny. It's sad. It's messy. It's imperfect.

And it's REAL. And it's ready NOW. (For the low low price of $1850!) :-)

I look forward to others feeling the momentum this book has to offer.

I am choosing self-publication through a local publisher called Aquarius Press. I will still own the rights to the book, and this $1850 will pay for editing, marketing, cover design, and the first 100 copies.

This is a book that needs to be read. If 1,850 people donate $1 each, we're there. The book will be printed and available before my 30th birthday (October 1st), which is a goal I've had in place since I was a teenager.

I will reach the goal. I am confident in this. :)

The world needs to be reminded that it is through our imperfections that our genius is unleashed.
