Imperative sight-saving surgery
Donation protected
If you were to ask me about my uncle Chris, I would tell you that he is a humble, kind, and hardworking individual. I would also tell you about the time when I was in kindergarten when he attended a Father’s Day event with me so that I wouldn’t be alone because I didn’t have a father to take me.
Unfortunately, he has been dealing with eye issues since he was a child after experiencing a traumatic eye injury. After endless doctors appointments and medical treatments, his condition has only become worse. Less than a year ago, he had an invasive procedure done on his eyes to try to slow down the loss of his eyesight. After the surgery, he experienced complications and revisited his surgeon who was not attentive to his concerns. Fortunately, he found another very experienced doctor who did a thorough assessment and concluded that he will need yet another procedure. He needs a pneumatic retinopexy- a procedure that involves injecting an expanded gas bubble into the eye in order to push the retina back into the correct position, ultimately saving his eyesight. Without this procedure, he will undoubtedly go blind.
Not only is this surgery quite costly, the recovery process is brutal. He will need to be off of work for 2-3 months while he recovers from this invasive procedure.
My family, especially my uncle, is not the kind to ask for help. Throughout the years, I know that this has caused a lot of emotional and financial stress. Any type of monetary donation is greatly appreciated. Prayers and sharing this story is also incredibly helpful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and we are very grateful and hopeful.
