Impassive Help

Donation protected
My objective is to start a portfolio of investments that would provide funds to donate to good causes not just once, but forever every year. But every ambitious journey starts with a small step…

To reflect on the long term ambition of this project, I would like to start a personal fund raiser challenge that celebrates past history and helps me show my commitment to help people in need forever. I would like to commemorate Operation Dynamo in its 80th anniversary. Operation Dynamo consisted on the evacuation of more than 300 thousand people (mostly soldiers) from Dunkirk in northern France to Dover in southern England. The operation was very successful (given the circumstances) and was one of the decisive events of the allied victory in the Second World War.

The operation took place between the 26th of May and the 4th of June 1940 (9 days). The distance between the ports of Dunkirk and Dover is 70 km. Now, I am not particularly fit and I have been rowing using a high quality machine for some time now, comfortably managing 2.5 km per day. I think I can easily row 5 km every day, but for this commemoration I am prepared to try 10 km a day for seven days, emulating Operation Dynamo’s journey over one week.

I promise to update you on my progress. Please donate so I can start collecting, investing and helping good causes every year, forever. It will be very modest amounts in the beginning, but with compound interest and patience, I hope we can increase our impact year after year.

Thanks for your support!
