Have you heard the good news?  This awesome group of dancers is taking their talents and gifts abroad.  We are going to Kenya.  Let us tell you a little more about who we are first, and then we'll let you know how we want you to get involved.

Impact Dance and Music Ensemble (IDME), a subsidiary of Positive Images of Self-Expression (PISE), was founded by Sheryl “Imani” Harris, Artistic Director of Faithful Central Bible Church Dance Ministry.  PISE cultivates the future of performing arts by supporting and providing resources for up-and-coming artists to start new projects and creative businesses.  Aside from their personal projects, these artists come together to share their talent as one ensemble.

Impact Dance and Music Ensemble immerses its audience in African American culture through dance and music.  IDME unites a community of creative’s together to share the African American experience through electrifying performances in West African influenced dance, music and spoken word.  IDME blends performing arts and multimedia providing a creative environment that entertains and educates its audience.

Impact Dance and Music Ensemble consists of a network of artists from various backgrounds and experiences.  Offstage the ensemble cultivates the future of performing arts through Impact Performing Arts Conservatory, providing training in dance, music, acting and multi-media for ages four to seventeen.

This summer Ms. Imani is taking IDME to East Africa to share their talent abroad and be inspired by East African dance and music.  Offstage the ensemble will facilitate an Impact Performing Arts Conservatory with 110 native children at I Can Fly High School.  The conservatory will focus on using the art of dance to tell stories.  The children of I Can Fly High School will create dance diaries and perform them for the school.  We are taking six dancers to Kenya for two weeks.

Please partner with us in using arts education to give young girls silenced by trauma a voice to speak and experience the freedom of expression.  Your financial support will cover travel expenses for the ensemble and conservatory supplies for the students we serve. There are several ways you can be a part of this opportunity.
