** Update**
We have now completed 1832 kilometres of our target distance - the players have worked so hard. The changing room build begins on 15th September so all donations will be put to good use very soon!!
Cleckheaton R.U.F.C Junior Section are wishing to raise money to build two new changing rooms and refurb our existing changing room building. Our current building is 100 years old and in desperate need of being brought up to current, modern day standards.
Our juniors are challenging themselves by aiming to cover 2025 kilometres by walking, running and using both exercise bikes and rowing machines, starting this Sun 24th August at our Sports Club Beer Festival. They will then continue their challenge at their training sessions on Wednesday, with the hope of completing the distance by next Sun 31st August.
The increase in numbers within our junior section over the years, along with girls' teams growing by the the year, mean our existing facilities just don't make the grade. We have players having to change in cars and the club toilets, or have no space to change at all - they deserve so much more!
With a grant being awarded by the RFU of £100K it certainly kick starts our task.... however, we need as a club to raise another staggering £300K to complete this very overdue project.
The project itself will make a huge difference to the club, and the way our teams are made to feel valued by having a space that is truly fit for purpose, enabling the players to thrive in an environment that supports them off the field too.
The funds will go towards our overall Sports Club fundraising total, to complete the project with all members of the club pulling together to achieve our goal!
All donations will be very gratefully received, please help us towards our target. Thank you!
