Dear friends, donors and generous hearted folk.

Please can you help: Immunotherapy offers her this chance.

Alison a true beacon of kindness who is bravely facing an aggressive brain cancer diagnosis. She has recently undergone surgery to remove a lump and is currently enduring the challenges of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Alison is now seeking a promising ADVANCED DRUG TREATMENT that offers HOPE, but it comes with a cost of approximately £60,000 and isn't covered by the NHS.

If we could, we would move heaven and earth to save my amazing sister, we have exhausted our family finances and are appealing to you dear friends to help support us.

Alison has spent her life giving to others, always there with open arms and compassionate heart for anyone in need. Not only during her career as a mental health nurse, but through family, friends and chance encounters along the way.

Now she needs a taste of this compassion, a helping hand in this excruciating battle. If 3000 people could give just £20 we have reached our goal!! That seems very reachable, considering all the people Alison has touched with kindness.

Thank you so much for reading this.

Alison: My story so far:

2023 November
I had been getting some very weird symptoms, tingling, numbness, odd head symptoms, but no head aches, limb weaknesses. So a neurology appointment was booked. That was followed by an MRI in 2024, February. Heard nothing but chased the result in case. However I was lulled into a false sense of security.

My symptoms increased, until it felt like someone was turning my lights off and then on. Or my speech failed just for that moment or my swallowing stopped, just for a second. So in May, still without an MRI result I had a Barium swallow. Then 3 days later while at work, I ended up in A&E with stroke like symptoms.

Bang! That is when the consultant at A&E broke the devastating news. I had a tumour in my brain. My father had the same sort of tumour too, 30 years before me.

I ended up on this hamster wheel of bewilderment, shock, denial, frightened and unknowing, ignorance, mixed with trying to sort my affairs out, and many tears. Then paperwork, Power of Attorney forms, gosh, it is hard to describe how quickly your life can change.

There was help out there, but the information you are trying to absorb, while your brain is struggling to cope with basic cognition is so hard.

I have had a resection of my tumour. Nearly completed one session of standard NHS treatment, radiotherapy and chemo, but I know my tumour is resistant to this treatment. Unmethylated tumours are able to reproduce despite this treatment, and I am against the clock. Time is both my saviour, in that I spend every second being grateful for the time I have with my family and friends, but it is also my enemy, as the clock is ticking away. I need to try new advanced treatments as we know the old tried and tested treatments are not so effective for me.

I am on a limited diet, embracing laughter, yoga and so many vitamins I must be rattling. I am generally a positive upbeat person, singer/songwriter, nurse, shop keeper, artist, printer and an eco warrior, environmentalist and veggie consumer. I have fought for this wonderful planet and want to stay on it with you.

Allow me to be part of your journey and you mine. I am truly grateful for any contribution, you are amazing, a heart felt thank you

I will keep updating every one on my fundraiser page. I would like to thank everyone who has or can help by donating towards my treatment.

Thank you very much for reading this, and helping out! ❤️

Update:
Tuesday 10th September 24
First 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiotherapy completed.....yeah!! I am hoping I will soon be feeling less yukky. Looking forward to a nice break from hospital visits.
Thank you so much for your support and helping with my fund raiser. ❤️
Will be in touch when I am back to my buzzy self!
Alison

We are having a few set backs. Flights all booked for Germany, treatment booked, then the NHS oncology Consultant is being difficult and does not want this to go ahead.
So there is now a dilemma. Decision to be made after the weekend!

Alisons latest MRI has shown progression.
A small part of Ali's fundraiser has so far been used to buy repurposed drugs in the hope of delaying the growth of the tumour so she can access immunotherapy. We were hoping for more local UK based immunotherapy or trial.
It is hard trying to raise money for treatment. People have been very generous and kind so far, but we are a long way from the required amount.
I would like to say a HUGE and heart felt thank to you all for your donations so far.
