Magally and I have been best friends since we were five years old, growing up together through kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school. She has always been a source of joy and strength in my life, and now she is facing the toughest challenge yet—a battle against cancer. Last year, Magally began her treatment through the SIS, undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. Unfortunately, after a relapse this year, she had to start care at Oncosalud and has been hospitalized in Lima since January. Despite further rounds of chemotherapy, the results have not been as hoped.

Doctors have now recommended immunotherapy with Pembrolizumab, a medication not covered by her Oncosalud insurance. This treatment is Magally’s best hope, but it comes with significant financial challenges. Her parents have been by her side in Lima, and the costs of medical studies, procedures, and daily living have quickly added up. They have already exhausted their savings, and the expenses continue to grow with each passing day.
