Help My Family Friend Get Back to Her Home...

I know this is a bit long, but hang with me on this....
There's a family that I have been close with for over 20 years who has now become subject to the persecution of the current U.S. immigration service. All in the family are citizens or have green cards on the path to citizenship. This family of parents and four adult siblings came from South America and have been in this country for over 25 years. They are some of the most considerate, most exemplary people that any country should be glad to have as citizens. She and her family have been there for me repeatedly during a host of challenges that Elena and I have had over the last two decades.
So, now the last person in that family is in the process of finalizing their green card was told by immigration to go back to their home country to do their medical exam, turn in their paperwork to U.S. Immigration at the embassy there, and come back to the States. She and one of their siblings had round-trip airline tickets to be gone 2 weeks. They had to get accommodations during their stay there. She has NO family or friends left in that country and haven't been there in over 20 years. It's now one month later, immigration officials at the Embassy continue to ask them for one more form and one more form, and are being very ugly with my friend. They are threatening to have her start all over with their application process. We are working with attorneys here in the states to address this and get them back home to the U.S.
Given the extent of the increasing legal costs, and the fact that Cecelia is both financial and physical support for their ailing parents here, on top of all the other stresses, major financial hardships are increasing by the day. I am standing with them, but we need more help. It's not easy to ask this, but I felt that I needed to put it out there to ask for assistance. Anything would be most appreciated. I will get funds collected here for living and medical expenses here and there, as well as to the attorneys. Her brother, Jaime, will be helping make sure the funds go where they are most needed. Under these circumstances, the need for the funds is immediate.
Please feel free to share, but selectively, as I don't want to create any negative exposure. I know so many of us feel helpless with what's going on in this country. This is at least one situation where we can hopefully have a positive impact on the situation - and show people that Americans care. Thank you SO much for your consideration.
