We are raising money now to help support the critical work of this non-profit organization and to help these parents and children in Colorado.
For more than 15 years, RMIAN has been leading this critical work in Colorado, helping the most vulnerable members of our society to ensure they receive advocacy and fair legal representation. They have been operating on the most limited budget, but the efforts required now are more critical than ever.
They have one key goal which is to ensure legal representation for families, unaccompanied children, and individuals in immigration detention in Colorado, where 100s of individuals go without any counsel or any legal assistance.
These families and children do NOT get legal counsel when facing the separation of their children, when fleeing for their lives. The law requires that children, as young as 1 or 2 years old, represent themselves in immigration proceedings, against a skilled government trial attorney.
With this additional funding, the money will go only to provide direct legal services to immigrant children and individuals in civil immigration detention in Colorado, who face immigration deportation proceedings. With this additional funding, legal services will assist these individuals to know their legal rights and pursue their legitimate claims for asylum and protection.
As a long term supporter of this important work, I know the need is more critical than ever. RMIAN will help families and these separated children, and they have already been leading this effort for years in Colorado.
Your effort and contribution matter more than ever at this time. Please help me in this effort.
