Help us create positive futures for young people

With your support we can continue our work with the most vulnerable in our community.

At the start of lockdown, Immediate Theatre acted immediately to support participants and their families by:
- Moving programmes online & providing regular support over the phone
- Making regular visits in the community & delivering activity craft packs
- Providing tablets for those without access to computers
- Helping those most in need with food & signposting other services
- Creating a weekly radio programme for isolated older people, enabling them to feel connected & access key health information/updates
- Developing online programmes to provide key support for the unemployed

This support was described by participants as a 'lifeline'.

As we come out of the second lockdown, we know that it is likely to have the harshest effects on those already living in poverty, and the need for our services will be even greater.

We're raising funds to provide vital ongoing support for our participants.

The money raised will help us to continue our regular programmes, providing a sense of normality and a safe space for vulnerable young people, as well as providing additional support where it's needed most, such as:

- Providing tablets for online workshops & craft packs
- Help with participant transport
- Hot meals during school holiday programmes & other projects
- Employment support and first-time opportunities for young people
- Employing more staff in sessions to enable additional pastoral support for young people dealing with trauma & other complex issues.

At Immediate Theatre we believe in the transformative power of the arts. Through our programmes we help participants to build positive self-esteem and resilience. 2020 has been an extremely turbulent year and coronavirus has affected our lives in ways we never imagined. But for many in our most vulnerable communities, the impact has been even more devastating.

Those living in already challenging circumstances are in even greater need of practical and emotional support.

Our Estate-based Youth Theatres and creative projects allow young people to escape into their imaginations, providing a space where they feel connected and empowered and enabling them to explore the issues affecting them.

We need your support to continue our work, ensuring that young people can feel supported and positive about the future. Please donate and share this campaign to help us survive these turbulent times and bring the creative power of the Arts to where it's needed most.
