Immediate relief for Hurricane Ian

Hi, my name is Jenna Huhn, and I am fundraising to provide immediate relief to flooding victims who have lost everything to Hurricane Ian. I know sometimes it’s hard to know where to donate to have the most impact and I assure you that’s exactly what we’re achieving. We aim to bridge the gap for those already living paycheck to paycheck to get them through the next few weeks before government support and charities will be able to provide more substantial assistance.

We are providing cash directly to those in immediate need of essentials including food and gas. We are focusing our attention on those affected by the flooding in the Naples, Bonita, Cape Coral, and Ft. Myers areas, who are full-time residents, don't have insurance, barely making ends meet already, and are in dire need as they have nowhere to turn for help now.

We quickly realized many needed far more help than just cleaning out their homes. They needed cash in hand to survive the upcoming days and weeks ahead until more assistance could be sent their way. My family and I committed to donating $6000 upfront and began reaching out to friends and family, imploring their help in this urgent matter. In less than 24 hours, we had a total of $13,405 to distribute with a goal of providing immediate support for the next few days to those who need it the most.

We are now asking for more help as we continue supporting the community through this challenging time. These areas were utterly devastated by flooding, and 99% of their belongings are now gone forever.

As we passed out cash to those in need, we were greeted with tears, hugs, and horror stories of what they endured to make it through the storm. The story of Shawn, who hung onto a light post for three hours waiting for flood waters to recede, was just one of many tragedies experienced in this community. Or Jennifer who said, “I started with hardly anything and now I have nothing.”
