Immediate Help for Ukrainian Refugees in Poland
Donation protected
Hello. If you don't know me, my name is Sacha. We probably all want to help any victims of the war in Ukraine if we can. This is one way I plan to get immediate help directly to refugees in need...
Some of you may already know that I have very close cousins and family in Wrocław, Poland, a country where millions of refugees have crossed over from Ukraine. I reached out to one of my cousins, Ania, to see if it made sense for me to collect and send money over - was there anything it could possibly do? The answer is YES. A small part of what she wrote back:
"....Every day, thousands of Ukrainian women with children and old people come to our city. They have nothing, sometimes not even a bag. Together with Basia [Ania's sister, another of my cousins - sacha] and other friends, neighbours, we take care of such families. Not only us, because almost all Poles now volunteer and help. We collect clothes, food, hygiene products for them and really everything (because they only have what they wear). Our wardrobes are already under review. Our foundations are doing what they can, but there are many, many Ukrainian refugees. We reach out to specific people, families, cases and buy them the things they need for now. We can do this also thanks to a fundraiser among friends that sent money to us so that we could continue to help."
I have created this fundraiser to help them continue on from here.
These people would literally give someone the shirt off their back if it would help out. I believe that's exactly what Ania meant by their "wardrobes already being under review"
They are on the ground where the refugees are. They are working hard with others in their local and greater community to do everything they can to help these families survive. I'm sending money they and others in their community will use to buy food, water, clothing, blankets, and necessities for people that truly need help in a devastating situation. I am hoping you will join me, in whatever amount, so we can help the people displaced and deeply traumatized by this war as much as possible.
We can help.
