Hello community, I wish that this wasn’t needed, just as I wish so many things about this situation were different. Many of us noticed recently that our beautiful friend Sybilla Bakzaza appeared to have gone missing. I am here to report that they are alive and healthy but nowhere near a situation I would describe as safe.
Last month Sybilla was arrested while in the midst of a mental health crisis. People who should have protected her failed her and now she is being held in a male ward of York County Prison. If your heart dropped reading that last sentence you aren’t alone. I have seen Sybilla and they assured me that they feel as safe as they can right now, and are not trying to hide their true selves from other inmates. They do however have an immediate need for legal representation and long term to find a safe housing situation upon release.
Sybilla has been a long time artisan at the Serpent’s Key Shoppe & Sanctuary, and we consider her family. 100% of all sales of her art in the shoppe will be going straight to Sybilla and all money from this gofundme will go towards helping her pay legal fees.
