HELP TO REPLACE OUR STOLEN SCHOOL MINIBUSES
URGENT APPEAL FOR SUPPORT FROM OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND LOCAL BUSINESSES
At the beginning of the summer holidays, we were shocked to discover that two of our school minibuses had been stolen from Imberhorne School. They were later found abandoned in a field, stripped of their engines and all parts. We have shared CCTV footage of the incident with the police who are actively investigating the theft; however, they have not offered much hope of apprehending the culprits. We were grateful that our third minibus was loaned to the local Scouts for the week and therefore escaped being stolen!
It has saddened us deeply that individuals would come into our school and do something so calculating and thoughtless. The vehicles are such a vital resource and the impact on the school community is immense. They are an essential part of school life, used daily for sports fixtures, educational trips, and activities for all students in Years 7 to 13. Without them, these valuable opportunities will be severely limited.
While our insurance will cover a small part of the cost to replace ( pre-theft valuation only), it will not provide the financial means to replace two minibuses. The challenging financial climate for schools means that our budget simply cannot stretch to make up the shortfall.
**UPDATE**We had originally looked at leasing the vehicles, but with generous donations are now getting close to being able to purchase the vehicles outright and are very close to our target for this.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us get our students back on the road. We would also be very grateful if you could share this link so our appeal reaches as many people as possible.
Businesses can claim tax relief on charitable donations, and we are happy to discuss advertising sponsorship on the new minibuses.
