Elijah was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. His family’s love for film rubbed off on him at an early age to which he embraced with open arms. In high school, Elijah was brought on as a camera productions assistant on the Wachowski’s Sense 8 and Spike Lee’s Chi-raq. His submission for the Toyota Teen Drive 365 video contest won first place and the opportunity to re-shoot his project with a professional crew provided by Toyota. The self directed re-shoot aired on all Discovery Channel outlets. Elijah is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in Anthropology at Santa Barbara City College and plans to transfer to AFI next fall. Elijah’s favorite filmmakers are Andrei Tarkovsky, Paul Thomas Anderson, Frederico Fellini.
"I am embarking on a new challenge which is the development of my first official short film titled "It Might As Well Be Spring". It is a story that deals with the trials and tribulations on newfound independence, alienation, and self awareness. This production needs your help; with your donation not only will YOU be apart of a production team who's sole aspiration is to make an amazing film , but also your donation will be one step closer to making a developing dream come into fruition."
Each donation is immediately wired towards the costs of camera, lighting, sound, and wardrobe equipment. As well as the strenuous post production process. Every donation counts down to the nominal cent.
Of course it is an unwritten law in crowdfunding that donor perks are essential; trust me, we've got you covered. There are three seperate levels in which these perks can be dispursed to each donor (as seen on the right of this page).
Independent filmmaking is surely not for the faint of heart. In order to succed in this process, each cast & crew member involved will put forth every molecular particle within their able bodies in the act of creating a successful film. It is with no questions that the production of this film will require our minds, bodies, and spirits to bring it to life; which we are all more than willing to sacrifice. Each contribution is put towards extraordinary use; it is our hopes that IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SPRING will be a celebrated film that everyone who has been apart of it can be proud of its' result.
