Imagine having to suddenly rebuild your life?

We are Dianne and Ray Brantley, parents of Karri Brantley Watson. We are establishing this Go Fund Me account to assist her and her husband with rebuilding their disrupted lives. Over the past four years Karri’s health was slowly and progressively deteriorating from multiple symptoms, to include: chronic fatigue, constant muscle and joint pain, cognitive impairment and brain fog, mental confusion, blurred vision, nutritional deficiencies, food sensitivities, abdominal pain, insomnia, and auto immune disorders (i.e. Fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s, Lupus and Lyme disease symptoms).
She has seen several doctors, nurses and alternative medicine healers throughout the past few years looking for answers to find out the underlying cause. She has undergone and endured a multitude of tests (most of which were not covered under insurance), blood work (on one occasion 39 vials of blood), DNA and Genetic testing, and MRI. Finally, after a careful analysis of her symptoms and extensive laboratory testing by a new team of doctors and specialists, they have diagnosed her with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), commonly known as Biotoxin Illness. Karri has a gene that makes her susceptible to CIRS and once the gene is activated, every exposure to a water damaged building will make her sicker and sicker. Inhaling unseen mold toxins, mold fragments, mold by-products and other inflammatory chemicals found in water damaged buildings trigger massive inflammation in the body (including the brain), which cause a variety of symptoms that affect her neurological, cardiovascular and digestive systems.
The good news: Karri can recover by removing toxins from her environment to prevent more from building up in the body. The bad news: Karri is going to be undergoing a detoxification protocol to remove the toxins and attempt to restore her immune system to normal. It is complex and requires medication, supplements, life style changes and frequent follow-ups. The journey of detoxing and healing is a very slow process and it will wreck even more havoc on her body as it fights to push the mycotoxins out. Initial protocol estimates are over a 12 to 18 month period.
As part of her treatment protocol, Karri MUST stay out of and avoid contaminated (water damaged) buildings. Her most recent rental home was water damaged as evidenced by two independent environmental testing companies (totaling over $4,000) that tested 5 times the amount of toxicity someone with her illness should live in. It was very clear from these reports that high levels of biotoxins were present throughout the home (basement, main floor and attic).
The doctors, mold remediators and microbial consltants insisted they needed to get rid of the mold at the source or move. Since the landlord denied any responsibility and refused to remediate the house they were forced to move out! Thus, Karri and Don had to walk out of their rental home and leave most everything behind, due to long term exposure and contamination of toxic spores. This has created an enormous financial burden that includes: medical expenses/prescriptions/supplements, replacement of most of her furniture and items that are porous (including fabric couches, chairs, books, pictures, bed/mattress), pillows, sheets, towels, clothing (including shoes, coats, boots, Don’s uniforms) personal and sentimental items. And homeowners, renters, or health insurance doesn’t cover it!
As her parents, it has been very emotional and heart wrenching to see Karri and her husband going through this traumatic experience. It has been and continues to be extremely painful watching our daughter fall apart of deteriorating health, the trauma she is going through, the daunting challenge of this move, the financial burden and the long road back to health. We will be so very grateful if you can give in any capacity. All proceeds raised through Go Fund Me will help them with their growing financial needs for medical expenses, temporary housing, living expenses and whatever needs they continue to encounter to rebuild their lives and Karri’s pathway to healing. And if you cannot give monetarily, please help by your prayers, sharing our story and wishing them well.
Thank you for your support, prayers and encouragement!
