Imagine Avondale is a small charter school in Avondale, Arizona. We are a non profit Title 1 school with kids of all backgrounds and races. 60% of our kids come from low income families so internal fundraising is happening but at turtles pace. So in an effort to help our cause we have started this gofundme account to see how our surrounding communities, neighbors, friends and families can help. This is a great task and we cannot do it alone but with your help we can accomplish our goals.
Our Athletic Department has decided that we need a face lift and that we need need to provide our students with the best of what we can give them, in facilities and courts. Right now we have a run down patch of a field, an outdoor basketball court that has no grip, and no gymnasium for games of any sort, and no transportation to games. We have pretty much nothing in terms of sports facilities and equipment.
So we have decided to do something about it, with the help of some new leadership in our Athletic Department we are on a mission to CHANGE our kids environment. We want to build them a pole barn style gymnasium that would sit in our field and redo the basketball court that has caused injuries due to no grip. Also in our physical education department we lack participation out of our best athletes because of fear of injury and harm. A nice solid court with grip and real regulation lines would motivate them and show them that we really are here to improve their games and atitudes as student athletes.
Something has to change and we NEED your help, please donate to our cause as your money will be directly used to build these assets. Our goal is to raise this money in the next two years. If it happens before that GREAT ! That just means our kids won't have to play in the sun anymore or get scrapes and bruises or not be active becasue they have so little to be active with. If it happens after two years that's GREAT too! Because guess what? It would have been a goal still accomplished. And that's what we want to show our kids is how to set a goal and not stop until it is completed.
Our athletic Director will be making the first contribuiton in all 3 of our fundraisers to show that we are not all talk but we are about ACTION.
Our school spirit will rise as well, we can see it now: pep assemblies, school rallies, pack crowds for games, community events, partnerships with local churches and club teams and much more. What this could do in our surrounding community is what has gotten us passionate about this. What it can do for our kids and their families is what has us passionate and motivated to keep going until the work is done.
