To celebrate the world premiere of IMAGINARY, a new musical commissioned by the National Youth Music Theatre, we are launching this donation site to help us hit our target of £7000 in order to record the LIVE cast recording of the show.
All sales and profits go directly to NYMT (registered educational charity number 281159) in order to continue providing opportunities for future stars of stage and screen for years to come.
The National Youth Music Theatre is a small arts charity with no core funding and relies upon participants’ fees, ticket sales from productions and income generated through fundraising.
Established in 1976, the National Youth Music Theatre represents the very best in work with young people through musical theatre. For over thirty years it has enabled young people across the UK to develop both their creative and personal potential, leading Andrew Lloyd Webber to dub it ‘the best youth music theatre in the world’.
All of the young people who take part in NYMT’s activities testify to its benefits, describing it as a ‘life-changing’ experience. Not only do they extend their skills within the main disciplines of musical theatre (acting, singing and dance), they also develop key learning and life skills: the ability to work as part of a team, improved communication skills, increased confidence and growing self-esteem.

Imaginary is a moving, funny and inspiring new musical about the wonder of childhood and the struggle to hold on to that wonder as you grow up. Chaotic, open-hearted and imaginative, Milo is Sam’s only friend. They do everything together. But as Sam’s first day at secondary school approaches, his mum is worried that Milo is holding her son back, stopping him from growing up. School turns out to be full of surprises – and secrets. Can Sam and Milo’s friendship survive in this new world, where a painful revelation threatens to change their lives forever?
