Support the Future of Filmmaking – Help Bring Image and Likeness to Life!
Hi! My name is Katie Kessmeier, and I’m a film producer at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Over my time in school, I’ve produced five short films, each one pushing my storytelling and production skills further. Now, as I prepare to film my senior capstone, I want to do everything possible to make this my best and most ambitious film yet—and I need your help to make it happen!
My capstone, Image and Likeness, is a psychological drama infused with horror and sci-fi that explores the dangers of artificial intelligence, grief, and the fragile interplay between faith and technology. It follows Mary, a grieving Catholic school substitute teacher, who witnesses her mother’s online resurrection after the introduction of a new AI school counselor. As those around her embrace the chance to reconnect with lost loved ones, Mary is forced to confront her deepest fears.
In today’s rapidly evolving digital world, this film offers a timely and thought-provoking perspective on how AI influences the way we grieve, connect, and define reality. Rather than turning technology into a villain, Image and Likeness challenges how we, as a society, navigate its impact on our relationships and beliefs.
Your generous donation will go directly toward feeding our hardworking crew, securing professional equipment, building stunning sets, creating immersive costumes, acquiring location permits, and bringing this vision to life. Independent student films rely on the kindness of donors like you, who believe in the next generation of filmmakers and the power of storytelling.
Anything helps! Thank you for supporting young filmmakers and making projects like Image and Likeness possible. Look out for the film this summer!
