We are taking on “Run 25” for Alzheimer's Research UK
Me and Dan are taking on 25 Miles in December to raise money for the one million people living with dementia in the UK today.
As many of you know, Dad passed away in June this year from a long battle with FTD (Frontotemporal dementia).
And some of you may also know, Dad ran the fourth London marathon in the 80’s- in under 4hrs - and spent his lifetime telling the story, he continued to run and walk through his lifetime and something in me after his death told me I needed to get a pair of running trainers on- I’ve never shown an interest in running but something was urging me to get going. I’ve been doing C25K since August and whilst I’m no athlete I’m not hating it and I’m nearing graduation of the challenge.
Which brings us here- We’ve signed up to this challenge to keep me running and keep dad’s love of running going whilst also raising money and awareness for the disease that sadly took him from us too soon.
We are at a tipping point in dementia research. Every penny goes towards driving forward the search for a cure.
