I’m Swimming 5 Miles for American Cancer Society

Since I started my campaign by swimming 5 miles to help the American Cancer Society fight for a world without cancer, I have learned of 3 more people who are actively battling cancer. This is on top of 10 friends in the last year—those near and far away-who are in this fight for their health and are dealing with this dreadful disease. I am discouraged to think that our government is stepping down its commitment to fight cancer by cutting funding to key research institutions like the NIH, MD Anderson and Johns Hopkins. This is why I feel more than ever we need to support American Cancer Society. They are having to pick up the slack.
