I've run the Manchester Marathon 4 Citizens Advice
We are blessed to live in a generally just and fair society with laws that reflect this, but often we are not aware of the laws and mechanisms which help maintain this system until we are in a midst of a crisis. Citizens Advice helps people to understand the system, and the options open to them. Together with the Citizens Advice Website which provides a treasure trove of up-to-date information and advice, it also provides walk-in clinics in a variety of locations, together with face to face and telephone appointments. Citizens Advice enables people to access the help available and also provides a listening ear that can provide confidential, impartial and friendly advice.
I have supported Citizens Advice Hull and East Riding for almost 3 years now, giving a day of my time every week as a volunteer advisor. Please join with me in supporting this
I would like to give a shout-out to the many people who have contributed to my marathon journey. To my wife Mina and the many hours over the years that she has put up with my running, to my sons Josh and Tim and their encouragement, to my running friend from school David Jenkins and the Saturday mornings spent running in muddy cross country fields, to teachers Mr Powys and Mr Powell, the group of 4 who made a tipsy pact one New Year's Eve to run our first 10K about 10 years ago - James Chatfield, Kevin Priday, Sarah Downes, and many other runners through family, church and work who have inspired me through the years - my 'running uncle', Jeremy Yen, Chris Peach, Andy Kernaghan, Richard and Sue Foster, Sophie Harrison.
We'll close this campaign at the end of the day on Sunday 11 May to allow further donations as due to technical problems the campaign only started 2 days before the marathon.
