Support Finsbury Park RFC: Help Us Build a Better, More Inclusive Facility!
On April 6th, I’m running the Brighton Marathon to help raise funds for the club’s much-needed facility improvements. Right now, our changing rooms are basic, the showers are hit-or-miss, and we lack a proper outdoor space for players to connect. Some teams have been known to avoid playing against us because of these poor conditions. These upgrades will make the club more inclusive, more social, and more inviting—especially for women and underrepresented groups.
The Good News: The RFU has generously awarded us a grant that will match £10,000 for facility and social space improvements. This is a fantastic opportunity—but we need to raise our share to unlock these funds, with a tight deadline. With your help, we can transform Downhills Park into a vibrant, inclusive space that encourages more people to pick up a rugby ball and feel part of something special.
And if I hit my ambitious fundraising target? I’ll complete the marathon in full Finsbury Park RFC kit. Yes, that includes the socks. Although if you want me to run it wearing rugby boots too, then I'd need to raise 10x my target (i.e. please don't make me do that).
A note on donations: All donations will be re-donated by me to our whole club fundraiser here (where you can find the full details of how the funds will be spent). You can also read some local journalism about our fundraising effort here.
Join Us at the Finish Line: We’ll be sharing our progress on social media, and when the work is done, you’re invited to our end-of-summer BBQ to celebrate the transformation you helped make possible!
Since moving to London, Finsbury Park RFC has been a huge part of my life—not just as a rugby club, but as a welcoming community where I’ve found friendship, support, and plenty of post-match laughs. Now, I want to give back.
