I'm Gonçalo and on the October, 12th. I’ll be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London, not just for the challenge, but for a cause that truly matters: ending child hunger in our schools.

I would like to share to you a real story...

Please meet Luca (not his real name), he was just 8 years old. Bright, full of energy, and always on the move. But in the classroom, his teachers struggled with him. He couldn’t sit still. He was disruptive, often interrupting the lesson. His schoolwork was suffering, and so were his relationships with classmates and teachers.

At first, it was easy to label him as a troublemaker. However, when the school reached out to his mum, she broke down in tears. She explained that they were going through an incredibly difficult time, some nights, there was no dinner on the table.

Many mornings, Luca went to school with an empty stomach. He wasn’t misbehaving because he didn’t care. He was hungry, and hunger changes everything.

Thanks to The Felix Project, they provide them hot meals. The change was almost immediate. With a full stomach, Luca became calmer, more focused, and more engaged. He started listening, participating, learning. He began to thrive, not just as a student, but as a happy, confident child.

There are thousands of children like Luca across the UK, going through their school days distracted by hunger. But with the right support, we can give them the nourishment they need to succeed.

My goal is to raise £500 for The Felix Project.

That’s the equivalent of 1,500 meals — or a hot meal every single school day for one children, for 4 years.
