We're running 31km in December for GOSH

Hello we are Freddie & Ava and this December we are taking on the challenge of running 31K to help make Christmas truly special for the children at GOSH, who continue to receive life-saving treatment over the festive season.

Hi my name is Ava I am 9 years old I would like to do this because I want the children at great Ormond Street hospital to have the best Christmas ever! I want to do this hospital because my brother Freddie is a patient at it under the birthmark & surgical team and they help him loads as well as other patients. Im aiming for 1k a day at least but possibly more! Please support us by sharing and maybe donating if you can and together we can give the children a magnificent Christmas ❤️
Thankyou Ava ❤️

Hi my name is Freddie and I am 10 years old my sister Ava came up with the idea to raise money for great Ormond street & I think the best way to support her is by doing it aswell! when I was a baby I had an haemangioma on my cheek and the birth mark clinic at great Ormond street helped me loads! When I was one years old they gave me surgery to remove it because it got bigger and bigger and wouldn’t shrink like it was supposed to do! I’m so happy my sister wanted to start this because I want to help the children at GOSH have the best Christmas!
please share and donate if you can,
thankyou Freddie.

Here’s me the day of my surgery!

Hi im Jess, Mum to these amazing children! When my daughter came to me asking what she could do to raise money for Great Ormond Street I couldn’t have been more prouder, then for my son to want to do this with her I'm just immensely proud! We will be walking, jogging, running 1k every day in December to reach the target of 31k!

Great Ormond Street holds a very special place in my heart, especially his consultant who was there for me from the moment i reached out when Freddie was 11 weeks old, my little boy had been dealing with very painful ulcers on his face, crying in pain constantly and after GP appointment & local A&E trips all the time I felt alone, unheard & still no help for my boy I was told Freddie’s birthmark was multiple things! Just a birthmark it’s fine, a pressure mark from being born, a blood blister! All things it wasn’t, Although it would have just been fine with the right treatment and advice this is something we didn’t get until I searched for help. I reached out to the birthmark clinic at GOSH and within a week we was there, the moment I was actually told “it’s a birthmark, called a haemangioma” finally after 11 weeks I felt some relief, I immediately knew my little baby was in the right hands, with the right medication and the right care, advice & support

haemangiomas are not usually harmful it all depends on the location but Ulcerated haemangiomas can form a painful open sore or ulcers, Freddie started treatment of Propranolol immediately, to help reduce the size but after 12 months of treatment it was in the best interest of Freddie to have surgery although propranolol has a high success rate this unfortunately wasn’t the case for Freddie.
Freddie was looked after by the best team at GOSH throughout his treatment his consultant was always there, pre & post surgery the support was just amazing! To this day 10 ten years later he is still under the surgical team, keeping track of his scar as he grows. So not only am I so proud of my children wanted to raise money for the children at GOSH this is also a big thankyou to the birthmark clinic & Surgical team

11 week old Freddie

I will be updating photos of how they get on! We will look forward to sharing this challenge with you all! Please do Share & donate as little as you can, your support will mean the world.
