I'm raising money & awareness for Papyrus Suicide Prevention

I have been in frontline policing for over 11 years. In that time, I have been involved in numerous calls for help from young people living with many issues - with far too many of those taking serious steps in planning, attempting and succeeding in suicidal attempts.

Until last year, I was not aware of the work Papyrus do for young people in crisis and until I attended a workshop run by Papyrus earlier this year, I was unsure of how to approach someone that had made the decision to end their life.

Those that know me personally will know that I have taken steps in my life recently to get myself into better shape - not only for the sake of my work, but also for the sake of my family and I have found exercise has helped with my own mental health, in dealing with life.

With the above said, I have decided to raise funds for this vital service provided by Papyrus; coupled with a 10k run I will be running in Barmouth on my birthday in June and completing a Tough Mudder in July, I also hope to raise awareness for this amazing charity.

After my 10k run in June, I will be joining '3 Dads Walking' in part of their walking challenge around Ynys Môn - it is with great thanks to Mike that I know of Papyrus and that I carry Papyrus' 247 Hopeline number with me at all times (in and out of work); cheers Mike.
